CERISE was well represented at the ECMWF's 50th anniversary celebrations that were held in Bonn, Germany, on 7-11 April 2025.

At the ECMWF Annual Seminar on “Forecasting in a changing climate”, Patricia de Rosnay gave an invited presentation on “Progress and prospects on coupled data assimilation, for exploitation of interface observations and in support of climate monitoring and weather prediction”.  Her presentation included several slides showing the CERISE results and achievements related to land and coupled data assimilation.

At the ECMWF Workshop on ancillary data for land surface and Earth system modelling, Margarita Choulga presented a poster on “Time-varying lake surface cover for reanalysis application”.

Pete Weston presented Ewan Pinnington’s poster on “Enhancing the ensemble spread of land-surface variables”.

Both posters attracted a lot of attention and triggered some lively scientific discussion at the joint event’s poster session.
